Dear all,

Firstly, great to see this initiative being taken on again.

I ran into some problems after installing Bongo from the FC5 rpms.

While running bongo-setup I get the following errors.

1. Imported objects from "/usr/etc/bongo/bongo-setup.xml".
Setting up access control...
ERROR: Could not grant object rights on \Tree
Rights could not be automatically set in the directory.
You will manually have to grant privileges on the base
to the Bongo Messaging Server object.

2 Generating certificate + key...
which: no certtool in (/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin)
INFO: Generating a new cert/key pair
INFO: Creating encryption data. *This may take some time!*
INFO: Creating /var/bongo/bongo/dbf/osslpriv.pem...
sh: --generate-privkey: command not found
Error!
Shutting down temporary slapd process
ERROR: Certificate + key installation failed.

3. Then at the end of bongo-admin user-passwd admin, the console hangs after entering the new password for the second time, without returning to the prompt.

Nevertheless I tried to start bongo, with service bongo star t (as superuser), I get the message:
Initializing bongo:  usage: bongo-setup.py [options]

bongo-setup.py: error: no such option: --domain
                                                           [FAILED]

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Many thanks and kind regards,

Paul

Dear All,

Just an update: I solved one problem: I installed  gnutls-utils.i386 and now certtool is found. But the script for creating the keys hangs and I do not get the console back.
I shut down the console and continued , and got an error at the end of the creation of user rupert. It reads:

adding user rupert
adding user rupert to \com\example with password 'bongo'
dragonfly config is: {"mail": {"from": "rupert@bongo.org"}, "calendar": {"defaul tTimezone": "/bongo/America/Boise", "disabledCalendars": {}, "timezones": [{"tzi d": "/bongo/America/New_York", "name": "Eastern"}, {"tzid": "/bongo/America/Bois e", "name": "Mountain"}, {"tzid": "/bongo/Europe/Paris", "name": "France"}]}}
ERROR: local variable 'store' referenced before assignment

I have no clue how to interpret this one...

Cheers,

Paul

Hi,

Have you tried a fresh install after all dependencies are met?

It could be that because of the fact that you had to kill the script, something was broken.
