I think a great calendar has always to be available...so the feature to be able to read and write to the calendar from a mobile device, and internet based calendar as Google is a must.
I would add that as far as many devices already have a tool to sync to Google calendar or to Outlook
Even most of the small ofccie software as the CRM or even the VoIP addressbook have tools to sync to an outlook addressbook....so even the possibility to store all date to such a common used ifle type is important

We have got a plan to do this using an opensync style conduit.  I can't provide any details as it is still in the discussion stage, but is definately on our todo list.

I'm currently using Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 (Exchange 2003) for my household, but I'm willing to make the step to the Bongo Project.
I think that the Bongo Project is an exellent Mail and Calendar Server. Perfect for home-use, but I also like to push email and the calendar to my phone  Cheesy

Is there an update about the opensync?

Not yet, but it will probably happen quite soon - I need to get Conduit to sync my calendar with my mobile phone, so expect to see something in the next couple of months.

Could that not also be possible for email and calendar but also for the contacts? That would be great!
I intend to install Bongo this weekend on my server only it's 64 bit. Is that a problem on Ubuntu and Bongo?

To be honest, there's not much difference between emails, calendar items and contacts - they're just slightly different content, but they're all hosted in the same data store so they should be equally syncable.

There is no issue with Bongo on 64bit - I run that myself - but I don't know what the state of packages on Ubuntu is at the moment.
